The Seer
The Seer. 12 x 18 watercolour.
The Seer painting and the accompanying poem of the same title, acts as a thesis statement for DREAMLOGUE: Conversations with the Unconscious. In the work, the central figure represents the Artist as a Dreamwalker, moving through the realm of ideas and surrounded by muses. These muses appear in different shapes and colors, symbolizing the many forms inspiration can take.
As a Dreamwalker, the Artist is tasked with returning from this inner realm bearing visions, images, symbols, and intuitions drawn from dreams, waking insight, and ancestral memory, translating them into our shared world.
The poem The Seer speaks to this sacred responsibility, and explores the tension that arises when the line between vision and reality begins to blur.
